OTTAWA, March 22, 2018 – There will be an official ceremony to mark the appointment of Justice Sheilah Martin on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place in the courtroom of the Supreme Court of Canada.
On this occasion, there will be remarks by the Hon. Jody Wilson-Raybould, P.C., M.P. (Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada); Mr. Philip Bryden (Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Solicitor General of Alberta); Ms. Kerry L. Simmons, Q.C. (President of the Canadian Bar Association); Mr. Donald R. Cranston, Q.C. (President of the Law Society of Alberta); and Ms. Sheila M. MacPherson (President of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada). Justice Martin will also speak.
